In violation of their conscience, Ontario‘s healthcare professionals are being punished for refusing to cooperate in arranging the deaths of other people. They are denied the right of conscientious objection given even to conscripted soldiers in times of national crisis.
A Private Members Bill proposing that participation in euthanasia be voluntary was defeated in the Ontario legislature, opposed by 3 of our 4 Waterloo Region MPP‘s.
On May 15th, International Conscientious Objector’s Day, we will gather to demonstrate our deep concern, showing our elected representatives that this is a “ballot box” issue. Gather at 4:45 pm at the office of MPP Diaene Vernile, 607 King Street West, Kitchener (where Breithaupt St. meets King St.) Leave at 6:00 pm.
